Emma Walmsley is Chief Executive Officer of GSK, the British pharmaceutical and healthcare company. She joined GSK in 2010 from L'Oréal, where she had spent nearly two decades in senior commercial and general management roles across Europe and China. At GSK she initially led the consumer healthcare division before being appointed CEO in 2017, becoming the first woman to lead a major global pharmaceutical company.

Her tenure has included a significant restructuring of GSK's portfolio, culminating in the 2022 demerger of the consumer healthcare business to form Haleon as a separately listed entity. Under her leadership GSK has sharpened its focus on pharmaceuticals and vaccines, with increased investment in research and development. Walmsley holds a degree in classics and modern languages from Oxford.
