Tim Steiner co-founded Ocado in 2000 alongside Jonathan Faiman and Jason Gissing, and has served as Chief Executive since the company's inception. Before establishing Ocado, he worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. Under his leadership, Ocado grew from a start-up grocery delivery operation into a publicly listed business on the London Stock Exchange, where it has at times featured in the FTSE 100.
Steiner has been a central figure in repositioning Ocado as a technology and logistics business, licensing its automated warehouse platform, the Ocado Smart Platform, to international grocery retailers. Partnerships with operators including Kroger in the United States and Aeon in Japan have been concluded under his tenure. He remains one of the more prominent long-serving founder-CEOs in British retail and technology.
