Tom Blomfield is a British entrepreneur best known as a co-founder of Monzo, the UK digital bank that grew to become one of the most prominent challenger banks in Europe. Before Monzo, he co-founded GoCardless, a payments infrastructure business, establishing an early track record in fintech. He studied law at Oxford before moving into technology and entrepreneurship.
Blomfield served as CEO of Monzo during its formative years, overseeing its growth from a prepaid card product to a fully licensed retail bank with millions of current account holders. He stepped back from the CEO role and later departed the company. He subsequently joined Y Combinator as a partner, working with early-stage founders.
