Wael Sawan is the Chief Executive Officer of Shell, the Anglo-Dutch energy major. He joined Shell in 1997 and held a series of senior roles across the business over more than two decades, including positions in liquefied natural gas, deepwater, and integrated gas and renewables. He was appointed to lead Shell's Integrated Gas, Renewables and Energy Solutions division before assuming the chief executive role in 2023, succeeding Ben van Beurden.
